Dr. Ghazi is a Professor of Urology , Director of Minimal invasice and Robotic Divison & Benjamin Leon Jr. Director of the Surgical Learning and Innovation Center of Excellence (SLICE) at the Brady Urological Institute at Johns Hopkins University. He also serves as the Director of Robotic Surgery for all surgical disciplines at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Ghazi specializes in the diagnosis and minimal invasive treatment of urological cancers. His practice focuses on further minimizing the impact of surgery novel robotic platfroms like the Single Port system and the optimization of functional outcomes following prostate cancer surgery using novel approaches. He is currently PI in two multicenter studies; NeuroVRD for intraoperative neuromonitoring of neurovascualr bundle sparing and ARID II for early recovery of post prostatectomy incontience. He also has a strong educational background completing the George Corner Deans Teaching fellowship, Harvard Macy Institute program for Educators in Health Professions, a Masters in Health Professions Education at the Warner School of Education, and a Senior Leadership Education and Development Program during his tenure. Dr. Ghazi directs SLICE and leads a team of biomedical engineers that fabricate realistic simulations that replicate the texture, appearance and tissue reaction of human organs. In this role, he collaborates with educators nationally, and internationally, in a variety of disciplines to enhance the role of simulation in surgical education.
